Timbre Consultants is working with 1122 Development Corporation and the City of Buffalo on the operation plan for a new Commercial Kitchen at the Broadway Market. The Broadway Market Commercial Kitchen Incubator builds on ongoing efforts by the City of Buffalo to strategically reposition the Broadway Market as a community anchor for farm to table, production, distribution and consumer healthy food options. The Broadway Market currently serves as a community-based resource that if strengthened could fill the healthy food gap on the east side of Buffalo as well as serve as a catalyst for an east Buffalo food-centered business development initiative. Timbre Consultants is part of a diverse planning team composed of food entrepreneurs, regional food policy experts, community planners and neighborhood activists.

Timbre Consultants is conducting a needs assessment, which includes stakeholder and best practices analyses, to inform the development of the Broadway Market Commercial Kitchen Operation Plan. Research includes community and vendor surveys, expert interviews and focus groups and case study development. The assessment will determine demand for the facility, anticipated end users, potential programming, staffing needs, sanitation and maintenance needs, operation hours and regulations and the space rental fee schedule.
